[Is this the old schoolhouse / DAR building?] "Yes this building was on Main Street (second building north of Drummer Lane, west side of Main) but it was not the Schoolhouse/DAR Building which was, and is, on the same side of Main Street but located at Colonial Lane. This building was moved to the lot where the Post Office is now and then when the First National Store was built it was moved to the east side of Lagoon Pond Road. And there it now sits as the "Island Color Center." In its original location it may have been Lord's Shoe Store." [WHR 1999] [See v12501.htm]
