"This is just after WW-II. This 'old' Staten Island ferry was bought to test the double ender ferry concept - she didn't last long. The vessel was in bad shape when it arrived here and was never re-conditioned." [WHR 1999] [ What does the handwritten reference to "Hackensack" mean?]
