Of the ancestor of this Vineyard family, THOMAS TRAPP (1) a full account may be read in Vol. II, Annals of E., pp. 113-114, and subsequent researches have failed to yield any additions of value to this record either concerning his ancestry or life in New England. He had the following named children:

11. SAMUEL, b. (1677).
12. SIMON, b. (1679); living 1752, prob. unm.
13. ANN, b. (1681); m. JOSEPH NORTON (14) abt. 1702.
14. THOMAS, b. (1683).
15. MARY, b. (1685); m. WILLIAM COLES 4 June 1716.
16. JABEZ, b. (1688).
17. MERCY, b. (1690); m. SAMUEL PEASE (111) 4 Jan. 1710.
18. HANNAH, b. (1692); living 1735.

11. SAMUEL TRAPP, b. abt 1677; res. E., mariner, fisherman and pilot; m. THANKFUL PEASE (150) 16 Mch. 1714, who was b. 8 Oct. 1698. He d. abt. 1742 as adm. Of estate was granted 19 July of that year. The date of his wife's death is not known. They had the following named children:

20. SAMUEL, b. 2 Sept. 1717; master mariner; rem. to Boston (1759) later to Norwich, Conn. (1766). Tavern keeper; m. PHEBE ________.
21. EPHRAIM, b. 21 Dec. 1719.
22. JANE, b. 17 July 1723; living 1755.
23. THANKFUL, b. 23 May 1726; living 1755.

14. THOMAS TRAPP, b. abt. 1683; res. E., carpenter; rem. to Norwich, Conn. where descendants reside and where he was living 1766. He m. (1) ABIGAIL EDDY (27) 18 Jan. 1716-17, who was b. Sept. 1687 and d. 14 Feb. 1717-18; (2) JEAN CATHCART (13) 4 Sept. 1719, who was b. abt. 1697. Date of her death is unknown. They had the following named children:

31. MARY, b. (1721); m. STEPHEN COLVIN of Norwich, Conn. 25 Aug. 1746.

16. JABEZ TRAPP, b. abt. 1688; res. E., farmer; m. HEPSIBAH DAGGETT (53) 10 Dec. 1716, who was b. abt. 1692 and d. bef. 1750. His will 15 June 1750 was pro. 13 July 1750 and his death occurred between those dates. They had the following named children:

40. JOHN, b. 18 July 1717; d. unm.
41. BEULAH, b. 1718; m. THOMAS AREY (35) 4 Sept. 1740.
42. WILLIAM, b. (1720); laborer, living 1752.
43. SARAH, b. (1722); m. DAVID HANDMORE.

21. EPHRAIM TRAPP, b. 21 Dec. 1719; res. E. rem. to Honduras, Central America, where he was engaged in the mahogany trade with GIDEON NORTON (270). He m. a native woman. His will 26 Apr. 1755 names his son, and bequeaths other property to his brothers and sisters (N.Y. Willa XX, 32). They had the following named son:

45. URIAH.

30. EDDY TRAPP, b. abt. 1718; res. E., mariner; m. ELIZABETH VINCENT (26) abt. 1745, who survived him. He d. 1751. They had the following named child:

50. HANNAH, bapt. 12 Mch. 1749.
