Missing Gravestones

According to "Vital Records of Tisbury to the Year 1850, which was published in 1910 and evidently based on a turn-of-the-century transcript of every gravestone in town, the following five people once had a gravestone at Crossways Cemetery:

 

Jacobus Albertus. Born 1839.
Betsey Davis. Wife of James Davis. Born July 14, 1772. Died Mar. 13, 1851. She was the daugher of Samuel and Margaret (Chase) Look. She died of heart disease. See The Look Family of Martha's Vineyard for more information about her family.
Waitstill Look.  Daughter of Samuel and Margaretta Look. Died Nov. 8, 1822, aged 38 years, 4 months, and 15 days. She was an unmarried daughter of Samuel and Margaret (Chase) Look. See The Look Family of Martha's Vineyard for more information about her family.
William Swain.  Died Jan. 4, 1814, aged 65 years, 10 months, and 4 days. See Banks p. 466. He was the husband of Parnell Luce.
Abigail West.  Daughter of Abner and Jane West. Died July 6, 1741, aged 19 years and 21 days. See The West Family of Martha's Vineyard for more information about her family.
