Mary (Luce) Butler Cottle was the daughter of Capt. Jesse Luce and Elizabeth West of Tisbury, and the second husband of Capt. Edmond Cottle. See Banks III pp. 270-1 and p. 113 for more information.
She died of consumption (tuberculosis) at the residence of her son-in-law T. Allen Jr. in Chilmark.
She was also known as "Polly."
