[Susan Irish <PICKNELL@aol.com> writes: "Freelove Sweet was born Nov. 1, 1734 Exeter, RI; dau of Samuel & Sarah Sweet. She married her cousin Henry Sweet born Nov. 10, 1723 in East Greenwich, RI; son of Benjamin & Susanna (Spencer) Sweet. She was widowed before 1758. By Nov. 13, 1759 she was Freelove Crowell. The only Crowell I have found in RI records was an Edward Crowell, cooper, in North Kingstown about this time. On Nov. 12, 1765 Freelove Crowell was brought before the Exeter Town Council and examined as to her legal place of residence which was determined to be Martha's Vineyard (the record doesn't exactly say, 'Martha' but the name starts with 'M' and is followed by Vineyard and was located in Massachusetts). So, even though she had been born in Exeter, RI, she and her 2 children: Henry Sweet & Naomy Sweet were removed to MA."]
